Description
Above all, we desire that students read well - that their fluency supports their comprehension which in turn deepens their understanding of the story behind the story. If our students engage with the larger human experience as a result of reading instruction, then our instruction is both authentic and valuable. As teachers, we can improve students' vocabulary development and comprehension when technology is integrated into the literacy block. The utility of Kidblog, Glogster, and Edmodo will be demonstrated in the context of literature circles, novel studies, and independent reading. Focus will be on the extension of the school day and the deepening of comprehension skills.
